Sundays: Everyday Living, Designed for Longevity

How the Canadian furniture brand built a presence on Ossington through low-maintenance design and a commitment to fewer, better things.

Founded in 2019 by Barbora Samieian, Moe Samieian, Sara Samieian, and Noah Morse, Sundays began with a focused premise: furniture should withstand the friction of daily life without sacrificing aesthetic clarity. The founders launched the brand to counter the overwhelming catalog sizes and flimsy construction typical of mass-market furniture. Instead of endless options, Sundays introduced a tight selection of modular sofas, solid wood dining tables, and bedroom pieces built for longevity.

"We couldn't find quality design that was easy to shop at an attainable price. So we built it."

- Barbora Samieian, Co-Founder, Sundays

The brand’s design language relies on soft curves, low profiles, and versatility. Seating pieces feature modular frames that adapt to different room layouts over time, paired with feather-fiber blend cushions and removable, washable slipcovers. Material selection centers on durability: frame construction utilizes FSC-certified solid wood, while upholstery choices emphasize PFAS-free performance fabrics built to resist heavy wear.

"Multi-functionality and natural materials aren't just details—they're how you make furniture last."

- Barbora Samieian, Co-Founder, Sundays

While Sundays originated as a digitally native brand, physical space quickly became an essential touchpoint for customers seeking to evaluate scale, comfort, and tactile details. After testing the Toronto market with an initial pop-up in 2021, the brand established a permanent showroom at 113 Ossington Avenue.

The space operates as a low-pressure environment where visitors can interact with the pieces in a residential context. Managed on-site by Retail Experience Manager Karla Hewitt-Blackie, the showroom integrates into the neighborhood’s rhythm, drawing design-conscious visitors and local foot traffic.

"Ossington lets us connect with people in a space that feels organic and rooted in the neighborhood."

- Karla Hewitt-Blackie, Retail Experience Manager, Sundays

As Sundays grows its footprint across Canada and into select U.S. markets, the company continues to refine its direct-to-consumer delivery model. In-house logistics teams handle white-glove assembly and packaging removal, eliminating common friction points in home delivery. The showroom at 113 Ossington remains a core location for the brand in Ontario, grounding itself into one of Toronto's most active retail corridors.
