How Has The Neighborhood Changed Around You In That Time? What Are You Most Excited About?
We’ve seen the emergence of interesting intersections of art/nature/culture, and in some cases retail, that are designed to bring people together - like the Stackt Container Market and the Bentway. It’s given the neighbourhood more dimension and sense of community.

And the laneways. Love the way the neighbourhood has embraced these seemingly hidden and dead spaces between buildings and turned them into interesting places worth discovering. You can find all sorts of things there like little espresso bars, doughnuts shops…if you know where they are, you know. And if you don’t, it’s a pleasant surprise when you stumble upon one. The hood’s hidden little gems. What am I excited about? A little birdie told me there might be a Farm Boy going in at Front/Bathurst. Definitely excited for their candy amongst many other delicious things.


What Is The Best Time To Visit The Neighborhood?
Definitely the Spring time. The snow melts. The birds start to sing. And the patios open. That’s when the people flood the streets and the area comes alive. That kind of energy permeates these heritage brick walls.


Go-to Food Spot?
It’s a toss-up. Depends on what time/meal of day.

Go-To Coffee + Breaky: THOR - Scandi vibes. Bright Blue lids. Lick-your-lips scones.

Go-To Lunch: Campechano - All the tortillas and guac. None of the crazy lunchtime lineups.

Go-To PM snack: COPS coffee + doughnuts - Tiny. Sugared. Donuts. (Did I mention they’re served warm?)


3 Best Things About Working In Your Neighbourhood?
Being in the middle of it all. Stackt to the West, Bentway to the south. King and Queen Streets to the North. Whether you want to take in some street art or customize a sneaker at Mack House, whatever you’re into, chances are you can find it within 5km. There’s definitely no shortage of interesting faces, spaces and places to stimulate the senses.

At the same time, there are some unique spots for quiet reflection if you’re having a day. The reflecting pool and quiet Beech trees at the former Thompson Hotel site. The secret Alex Wilson community garden at Richmond and Portland. Victoria Memorial Square.

And from a practical, functional perspective – definitely accessibility. The team is always coming or going and being able to get to where we need to easily is key. Half our office rides in (though we could def use more bike rings!), the 504 streetcar and Bathurst bus at our doorstep. And we’re within walking distance to a lot of other great neighbourhoods and places.


Any Other Tips/Tricks?
Dollarama on King has a solid selection of cheap sour candy. And stay off the grass in the park when the snow starts to thaw. You never know what surprise you’re about to step into.
